Recombinant Human Lysozyme

Lysozyme is an enzyme that exists in animal and human lacrimal gland secretions (or tears), gastric secretions, nasal mucus, and egg whites, and can hydrolyze alkaline enzymes of

in pathogenic bacteria. Lysozyme mainly breaks down the β-1,4-glycosidic bond between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine in the cell wall, causing insoluble polysaccharides in the cell wall to break down into soluble glycopeptides, leading to the rupture of the cell wall and the escape of contents, thereby dissolving bacteria. Therefore, it is a potential anti-inflammatory factor, as well as possessing antifungal and antiviral functions, and it is most effective against Gram positive bacteria.

Application of Lysozyme in Disease Diagnosis and Treatment

1.Application in the prevention and treatment of oral diseases

Lysozyme has a wide spectrum of bacteriostasis, which can treat infectious diseases such as bacteria and fungi, and inhibit gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, fungi and other pathogenic microorganisms to varying degrees. It has been applied to the treatment of infectious diseases in the mouth, five senses, upper respiratory tract, skin, and urinary and reproductive systems. The level of lysozyme in saliva is closely related to the occurrence and development of oral bacterial, viral and fungal infectious diseases. The lower the level of saliva lysozyme, the higher the incidence of oral infections and inflammatory diseases. Supplementing with exogenous lysozyme can help prevent and treat common oral diseases.

2.Treatment of malignant tumors

Lysozyme can activate the host's immune system, enhance the immunogenicity of tumor cells, and thus have anti-tumor effects. Scholars have found that injecting tumor cells that do not express lysozyme and those that express lysozyme into mice separately resulted in rapid tumor growth and death after about 10 days in mice that do not express lysozyme, while mice with lysozyme showed no tumor growth. Another scholar's research has found that in vitro, lysozyme has inhibitory effects on the proliferation, migration, and tubular formation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells, all of which are dose-dependent. Lysozyme may act as a novel angiogenesis inhibitor and exert anti-tumor effects.

3.Treatment of viral infectious diseases

Lysozyme can directly bind to negatively charged viral proteins, form double salts with DNA, RNA, and deprotonated proteins, and inactivate the virus. According to reports, lysozyme has inhibitory effects on adenovirus, herpes virus, HIV, SARS coronavirus, hepatitis B virus, pseudorabies virus, etc., and can be used for the treatment of various viral diseases.

Application of Lysozyme in Disease Diagnosis

The concentration of lysozyme in the human body can be used as a diagnostic indicator for various diseases. Studies have shown that the level of serum lysozyme in patients with colorectal cancer is related to the occurrence, development, and invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer. Studies have found that an increase in serum lysozyme levels may be an important factor in accelerating tissue invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer. Serum lysozyme detection has potential value in clinical diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of colorectal cancer. Another scholar's research has found a relationship between saliva lysozyme levels and the occurrence of hypertension, and the results show that detecting saliva lysozyme levels can help diagnose the early stages of hypertension in cardiovascular disease. It has also been found that the increase of lysozyme level in arterial plasma can be used as an indicator for the diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases.

Recombinant Human Lysozyme

Yeasen's the recombinant human lysozyme is expressed and purified in an animal free system (rice endosperm cells), with the same amino acid sequence and physicochemical properties as natural lysozyme. The Recombinant Human Lysozyme can be used to recover proteins expressed in bacteria (such as E. coli). Compared with egg white lysozyme, plant expressed lysozyme not only eliminates the safety risks and inter batch performance differences of egg white animal components, but also has higher biological activity than egg white lysozyme.

Product Features

1.Plant expression, no animal derived components, and high inter batch consistency eliminate the safety risks of animal components in egg white
2.Improve bacterial fermentation efficiency;
3.Higher bacterial lysis activity;
4.Mild lysis ,increases the yield of recombinant proteins, compared to mechanical lysis.

Product application

1.Bacterial lysis
2.Lysis
3.Sample preparation before nucleic acid separation
