Description
HisSep Ni-NTA Agarose Resin is based on a cross-linked 6% agarose gel matrix, chemically coupled with tetradentate nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) ligands. Upon chelation with nickel ions (Ni2+), it forms a highly stable octahedral structure, with nickel ions situated at the center of the octahedron. This structure effectively shields nickel ions from attack by small molecules, making it more stable compared to Ni-IDA resin. It can withstand harsh conditions including certain concentrations of reducing agents, denaturants, or coupling agents. It has become an indispensable resin for purifying His-tagged proteins in laboratory experiments.
