Description

Yeasen's 0.22 μm PVDF Membrane is a roll of Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) blotting membrane with a size of 30 cm × 3 m and a pore size of 0.22 μm. It is most commonly used for the transfer of proteins from gels to membranes in Western blotting, but it can also be used for adsorption analysis, amino acid analysis, N-terminal protein sequencing, dot and slot blot detection, glycoprotein staining, and lipopolysaccharide analysis.

With a pore size of 0.22 μm, this PVDF membrane is suitable for most Western blotting applications, especially for proteins with a molecular weight greater than 20 kDa. Compared to nitrocellulose membranes, PVDF membranes have several advantages. PVDF membranes have high mechanical strength and are less likely to break or curl. They also have low background, broad solvent compatibility, and excellent staining capabilities. Additionally, PVDF membranes can be reused for repeated detection after appropriate treatment.

Due to the high hydrophobicity of the PVDF membrane, it needs to be soaked in ethanol, methanol, or other appropriate solutions before use to activate the membrane, making it easier for protein binding.

This product is compatible with various dyes, including Ponceau-S red, Coomassie brilliant blue, Sypro ruby, transillumination, Toluidine blue, CPTS, colloidal gold, India ink, and Amido black. Dyes such as Ponceau-S and CPTS can be washed off after staining, allowing the membrane to be used for further analysis. In contrast, dyes like Coomassie brilliant blue, India ink, and Amido black are irreversible, and the membrane cannot be used for further analysis after staining.

This PVDF membrane is suitable for detection methods such as chemiluminescence (e.g., ECL), conventional colorimetry (e.g., DAB, TMB), staining, and radioisotope methods.
