Description
A 83-01 is a potent inhibitor of TGF-β type I receptor ALK5 (IC50: 12 nM)/ALK4 ((IC50: 45 nM)/ALK7 (IC50: 7.5 nM) kinase, A 83-01 has a strong inhibitory effect on ALK5 and can inhibit phosphorylation of Smad2/3 and TGF-β-induced growth. A 83-01 has little or no effect on bone morphogenetic protein type I receptors, p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases, or extracellular regulatory kinases. At the same time, A 83-01 inhibits TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal metastases, suggesting that A 83-01 may help inhibit the progression of advanced cancer.
