Description
In vitro cell culture often involves the addition of antibiotics to the culture medium to prevent microbial contamination, with penicillin being the most widely used. The mechanisms of action of penicillin and streptomycin involve inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, while amphotericin B can inhibit the growth of fungi.
This product has been sterilized by filtration through a 0.1 μm filter and contains Penicillin at 10,000 IU/mL, Streptomycin Sulfate at 10 mg/mL, and Amphotericin B at 25 μg/mL. It is provided as a 100X concentrated solution, which requires dilution before use, and it should be used without repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
