Description
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is an effective pro-inflammatory cytokine that induces the production of interferon-gamma by Th1 cells, NK cells, and activated macrophages, especially in the presence of IL-12. IL-18 also plays a role in developmental regulation. The product is characterized by high activity, high purity, and low endotoxin levels. It undergoes validation and testing for biological activity, endotoxin levels, and SDS-PAGE to ensure consistency between batches. The product is provided without a carrier and is suitable for research and production of cell culture, ELISA, or immunoblotting standards.
Product Properties:
- Aliases: Interleukin 18; IL-18
- Uniprot No.: P70380
- Expression Range and System: E.coli-derived Mouse IL-18 protein, Asn36-Ser192 with a His tag at the C-terminus.
- Molecular Weight: Approximately 18 kDa.
- Appearance: Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
- Purity: > 98% as determined by SDS-PAGE
- Activity: Measure by its ability to induce IFN gamma secretion in KG-1 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 0.5 μg/mL
- Endotoxin: < 0.1 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
- Formulation: From a solution containing 1×PBS, pH 8.0, lyophilized protein.
Usage:
- Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with sterile water, with a concentration not less than 100 μg/mL, and let it stand for at least 20 minutes to fully dissolve.
- The reconstituted solution can be further diluted and aliquoted, with a shelf life of 1 month at 2-8℃, and 3 months at -20℃; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
- When further diluting and aliquoting the reconstituted solution, add a certain amount of carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 10% FBS, or 5% HSA). For serum-free experiments, it can be replaced with a 5% trehalose solution as a carrier.
Transportation and Storage:
Shipped on ice. Store at -20℃ with a shelf life of one year.
Notes:
- For your safety and health, wear lab coats and disposable gloves during operation.
