Description

Interleukin 13 (IL-13) is an immunomodulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated Th2 cells, as well as mast cells and NK cells.IL-13 has anti-inflammatory effects on monocytes and macrophages, and inhibits the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-8.IL-13 also potentiates B-cell proliferation and induces isoform switching that thereby increasing IgE production.
