Description
Ephrin-A4, also known as LERK-4 and EFL-4, is a member of the ephrin ligand family which binds members of the Eph receptor family. All ligands share a conserved extracellular sequence, which most likely corresponds to the receptor binding domain. This conserved sequence consists of approximately 125 amino acids and includes four invariant cysteines. The A-class ligands have a GPI anchor following the conserved sequence. Ephrin-A4 has been shown to bind EphA2, EphA3, EphA4, EphA5, EphA6, EphA7, and EphB1. The extracellular domains of human and mouse Ephrin-A4 share 80% amino acid identity. Only membrane-bound or Fc-clustered ligands are capable of activating the receptor in vitro. While soluble monomeric ligands bind the receptor, they do not induce receptor autophosphorylation and activation. In vivo, the ligands and receptors display reciprocal expression. It has been found that nearly all receptors and ligands are expressed in developing and adult neural tissue. The Eph/ephrin families also appear to play a role in angiogenesis.

Source |
Recombinant Human Ephrin-A4/EFNA4 Protein is expressed from HEK293 Cells with His tag at the C-terminal. It contains Leu26-Gly171. |
Molecular Weight |
Approximately 17.5 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 18-25 kDa based on Tris-Bis PAGE result. |
Purity |
> 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC. |
Endotoxin |
< 1.0 EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method. |
Formulation |
Lyophilized from 0.22μm filtered solution in PBS (pH 7.4). Normally 5% trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization. |
Reconstitution |
Centrifuge tubes before opening. Reconstituting to a concentration more than 100 μg/mL is recommended (usually we use 1 mg/mL solution for lyophilization). Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. |
Storage
Transported with ice packs. Store at -20℃ to -80℃, valid for one year.
After reconstitution, store unopened at -20 to -80°C for 3 to 6 months. After reconstitution, store at 2 to 8°C for 2 to 7 days.。
It is recommended to store in aliquots and freeze for the first use to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
