IL-1 refers to two pleiotropic cytokines, IL-1 α (IL-1F1) and IL-1 β (IL-1F2), which are the products of different genes.IL-1 α and IL-1 β are structurally related polypeptides that are approximately 17% identical in amino acids (aa) in mice. Both proteins are produced by a variety of cells in response to inflammatory factors, infection, or microbial endotoxins. Although IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta are independently regulated, they bind to the same receptor and perform the same biological role. IL-1 RI binds directly to either IL-1 alpha or IL-1 beta, and then binds to the IL-1 R accessory protein (IL-1 R3/IL-1 R AcP) to form a high-affinity receptor complex capable of signaling. IL-1 RII has a high affinity for IL-1 beta but acts as a decoy receptor and a negative regulator of IL-1 beta activity.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing, centrifuge before opening the vial. It is recommended to aliquot for one experimental use, after aliquoting, freeze at -80℃.
