描述
钾硫酸卡那霉素是一种氨基糖苷类抗生素，对革兰氏阳性菌、阴性菌及支原体均有抑制作用。其作用机制是与细菌70S核糖体亚基结合，从而抑制核糖体易位而引起误读，进而干扰蛋白质的合成。硫酸卡那霉素可用于细胞培养中抑制细菌污染。在分子生物学研究中，常用于选择性筛选已成功转化卡那霉素抗性基因（kan基因）的细菌菌落；也常用于农杆菌介导的转化实验中，用于选择性筛选携带npt II（APH(3')-II）基因的植物组织。
本品易溶于水（100mg/mL），使用前需过滤除菌，建议工作浓度为30-100µg/mL。
